Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
When the work Sans Titre by Roland Topor was auctioned at Artcurial in Paris in January last year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at - in retrospect quite modest - EUR 500.00 but the actual price achieved was more than five times as high at EUR 2,600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Roland Topor - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The angry postman, which sold at auction in February 2008 for EUR 6,250.00.
Kunstwerk zum Fünffachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Sans Titre von Roland Topor im Januar letzten Jahres bei Artcurial in Paris versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – EUR 500,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit EUR 2.600,00 mehr als fünfmal so hoch. Für andere Arbeiten von Roland Topor mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The angry postman beobachtet, die im Februar 2008 für EUR 6.250,00 versteigert wurde.
