Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Roger Montané could be acquired at Christies in London in March 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Sunday Sale- The Edward and Millicent Carew- Shaw bequest, to benefit Medical Research at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem auction, the work Grande vent a Fourques changed hands for GBP 228.00 (€ 335.59) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Roger Montané - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Locmaria, l'escalier: woman on the village steps, Locmaria, Brittany, which sold at auction in June 2010 for USD 1,250.00 (€ 1,017.00).
