Auction result well in line with expectations
The work L'entrée du port by Roger Montané was sold in the At Home - British and Continental Pictures & Works on Paper auction at Christies in London in April 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 25.00 – 200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 58.75 (€ 76.55) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roger Montané achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Locmaria, l'escalier: woman on the village steps, Locmaria, Brittany in June 2010 with an auction result of USD 1,250.00 (€ 1,017.00).
