Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Prior's Porch, Ely Cathedral by Roger Fenton was sold in the Photographs auction at Phillips in London in November 2012. The price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,699.37) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roger Fenton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'The Valley Of The Shadow Of Death' in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 157,000.00 (€ 100,847.89).
