Auction result misses estimated price range
In August 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work A Centre of Things by Rodney Armour Milgate for AUD 528.75 (€ 312.36). This price was achieved in the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS at Christies in Sydney and was even below the estimate range of AUD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Rodney Armour Milgate have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mural-Topia, 1970-74 in May last year with an auction result of AUD 1,845.00 (€ 1,719.32).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im August 2003 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A Centre of Things von Rodney Armour Milgate für AUD 528,75 (€ 312,36) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS bei Christies in Sydney erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rodney Armour Milgate auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mural-Topia, 1970-74 im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 1.845,00 (€ 1.719,32).
