This artwork by Robert Sweet achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May last year. In the The Library of Henry Rogers Broughton, 2nd Baron Fairhaven Part I auction, the work Geraniaceae. The Natural Order of Gerania, 1820-1830, 5 volumes (including supplement) sold for GBP 4,788.00 (€ 5,632.63) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Robert Sweet; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The British Flower Garden, 1823-1838, 7 volumes sold at auction in May last year with the realized price of GBP 7,560.00 (€ 8,893.62).
