Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Handel; and Beethoven by Robert Stewart Sherriffs was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2004, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 298.75 (€ 451.48). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Stewart Sherriffs - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work ‘Winston Churchill: “How Absurd! Here Am I All Dressed Up To Do Honour To The Greatest Churchill Of Us All –”. Duke Of Marlborough: “– Me Too!”’, which sold at auction in March 2018 for GBP 938.00 (€ 1,067.96).
Here Am I All Dressed Up To Do Honour To The Greatest Churchill Of Us All –”. Duke Of Marlborough: “– Me Too!”’ beobachtet, die im März 2018 für GBP 938,00 (€ 1.067,96) versteigert wurde.
