In February 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction The Fine Art Society: 142 Years on New Bond Street, which included the work A Lady And Her Knight Errant, Possibly A Scene From Ivanhoe by Robert Scott Lauder. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,499.60), 50% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Robert Scott Lauder have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Claverhouse ordering Morton to be carried out and shot for having given refuge to Balfour of Burley in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,937.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Februar 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Fine Art Society: 142 Years on New Bond Street durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Lady And Her Knight Errant, Possibly A Scene From Ivanhoe von Robert Scott Lauder zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.499,60) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Robert Scott Lauder auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Claverhouse ordering Morton to be carried out and shot for having given refuge to Balfour of Burley im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 14.937,48).
