Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Robert Sargent Austin could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Watercolours auction, the work Girl Arranging Lilies changed hands for GBP 240.00 (€ 351.33) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Admittedly, works by Robert Sargent Austin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work a collection of etchings comprising: The Bride; The Curtain; The Lace-Seller; Evening; Café Scene; Sea Bouquet; Munich and At Prayer, on wove and laid papers, each signed in pencil, with margins, all apparently in good condition, three framed in May 2005 with an auction result of GBP 1,320.00 (€ 1,948.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
