Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Bonhams in Paris held the auction American Art, which included the work Lady Wrestlers by Robert Riggs. The price achieved of USD 64,000.00 (€ 60,071.33) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Riggs - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Boxers, which sold at auction in December 2005 for USD 204,000.00 (€ 172,268.20).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Paris die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lady Wrestlers von Robert Riggs zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 64.000,00 (€ 60.071,33) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Robert Riggs mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Boxers beobachtet, die im Dezember 2005 für USD 204.000,00 (€ 172.268,20) versteigert wurde.
