Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, which included the work High Bars by Robert Riggs. The price achieved of USD 37,500.00 (€ 25,301.94) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Robert Riggs have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Boxers in December 2005 with an auction result of USD 204,000.00 (€ 172,268.20).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2011 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit High Bars von Robert Riggs zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 37.500,00 (€ 25.301,94) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Robert Riggs auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Boxers im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 204.000,00 (€ 172.268,20).
