Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mickey Mantle, New York-Cincinnati, 1961; Willie Mays steals third, Brooklyn, 1955; and Jackie Robinson, Brooklyn Dodgers, 1954 by Robert Riger was sold in the The House Sale auction at Christies in New York in January 2006. The price achieved of USD 3,840.00 (€ 3,158.41) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Riger - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Green Bay Packers, Forrest Gregg; Johnny Unitas, Green Bay Packers Tackle; and Green Bay Bench 3, which sold at auction in April 2021 for USD 10,837.50 (€ 9,008.73).
