Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2011 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work A Piece of Chalk by Robert Vickrey. The price achieved of USD 13,750.00 (€ 9,694.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Vickrey - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Green Thought, which sold at auction in May 2021 for USD 35,312.50 (€ 28,958.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2011 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Piece of Chalk von Robert Vickrey zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 9.694,70) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Robert Vickrey mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Green Thought beobachtet, die im Mai 2021 für USD 35.312,50 (€ 28.958,91) versteigert wurde.
