Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Robert Payton Reid could be acquired at Christies in New York in November 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art Online auction, the work Portrait of a Lady changed hands for USD 13,750.00 (€ 11,556.56) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Other works by Robert Payton Reid have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2000 by the work All in a Garden Fair; and When the Thorn is White with Blossom at GBP 10,575.00 (€ 18,075.70).
