In March 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Cairo At Night by Robert Medley. The result of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,768.74) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Robert Medley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Red and green figuration in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 20,000.00 (€ 25,280.67).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im März 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cairo At Night von Robert Medley zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.768,74) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Robert Medley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Red and green figuration im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.000,00 (€ 25.280,67).
