Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Painter with Lisa by Robert Lenkiewicz was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,269.97). Admittedly, works by Robert Lenkiewicz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Painter With Karen On The Studio Bed in March 2007 with an auction result of GBP 48,000.00 (€ 70,650.52).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Painter with Lisa von Robert Lenkiewicz im September 2020 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.269,97) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Robert Lenkiewicz auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Painter With Karen On The Studio Bed im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 48.000,00 (€ 70.650,52).
