Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2010 Christies in New York held the auction Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Peace by Robert Gwathmey. The price achieved of USD 31,250.00 (€ 23,551.13) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Gwathmey - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Country Gospel Music, which sold at auction in November last year for USD 50,775.00 (€ 49,186.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2010 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Peace von Robert Gwathmey zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 31.250,00 (€ 23.551,13) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Robert Gwathmey mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Country Gospel Music beobachtet, die im November letzten Jahres für USD 50.775,00 (€ 49.186,28) versteigert wurde.
