Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November last year Bonhams in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Harmonizing by Robert Gwathmey. Here, the upper estimate of USD 18,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 20,400.00 (€ 19,761.70). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Gwathmey - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Country Gospel Music, which sold at auction in November last year for USD 50,775.00 (€ 49,186.28).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Harmonizing von Robert Gwathmey zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 18.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 20.400,00 (€ 19.761,70) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Robert Gwathmey mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Country Gospel Music beobachtet, die im November letzten Jahres für USD 50.775,00 (€ 49.186,28) versteigert wurde.
