Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Robert Gwathmey could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Man With A Hoe changed hands for USD 3,750.00 (€ 3,396.12) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Gwathmey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Country Gospel Music in November last year with an auction result of USD 50,775.00 (€ 49,186.28).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Robert Gwathmey konnte im Oktober 2015 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture wechselte die Arbeit Man With A Hoe für USD 3.750,00 (€ 3.396,12) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Gwathmey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Country Gospel Music im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.775,00 (€ 49.186,28).
