Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work By The Sea by Robert Gwathmey was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April 2012. Here, the upper estimate of USD 25,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 28,125.00 (€ 21,260.11). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Gwathmey - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Country Gospel Music, which sold at auction in November last year for USD 50,775.00 (€ 49,186.28).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit By The Sea von Robert Gwathmey kam im April 2012 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 25.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 28.125,00 (€ 21.260,11) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Robert Gwathmey mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Country Gospel Music beobachtet, die im November letzten Jahres für USD 50.775,00 (€ 49.186,28) versteigert wurde.
