Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A view of the Rhine with a large castle on a hill; A view of the Rhine with travellers and a pack mule on a path by Robert Griffier was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 7,560.00 (€ 9,017.49). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Griffier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Summer: An Extensive Rhenish Landscape With Boats At A Quayside And Peasants By An Inn; And Winter: A Frozen Winter Landscape With Peasants in July 2006 with an auction result of GBP 232,000.00 (€ 339,620.81).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A view of the Rhine with a large castle on a hill; A view of the Rhine with travellers and a pack mule on a path von Robert Griffier im Dezember 2021 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Summer: An Extensive Rhenish Landscape With Boats At A Quayside And Peasants By An Inn; And Winter: A Frozen Winter Landscape With Peasants im Juli 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 232.000,00 (€ 339.620,81).
