In June 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Important British Paintings, which included the work A View Of Syon House From The Thames by Robert Griffier. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 25,000.00 (€ 31,600.84), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Griffier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Summer: An Extensive Rhenish Landscape With Boats At A Quayside And Peasants By An Inn; And Winter: A Frozen Winter Landscape With Peasants in July 2006 with an auction result of GBP 232,000.00 (€ 339,620.81).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 31.600,84) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Griffier erzielen.
