Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Whiting Bay by Robert Gemmell Hutchison was sold in the Scottish Art auction at Sothebys in London in November 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,016.00 (€ 2,366.97) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Gemmell Hutchison achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Feeding The Seagulls in August 2007 with an auction result of GBP 60,000.00 (€ 88,695.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Whiting Bay von Robert Gemmell Hutchison wurde im November 2021 in der Auktion Scottish Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.016,00 (€ 2.366,97) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Gemmell Hutchison erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Feeding The Seagulls im August 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 60.000,00 (€ 88.695,84).
