Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Catching up on the local gossip by Richard Wane was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 192.00 (€ 282.60). Admittedly, works by Richard Wane have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The approaching storm in March 2004 with an auction result of GBP 1,553.50 (€ 2,325.45).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Catching up on the local gossip von Richard Wane im März 2007 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 192,00 (€ 282,60) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Richard Wane auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The approaching storm im März 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.553,50 (€ 2.325,45).
