It achieved a price of GBP 382.50 (€ 431.81), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 28%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tip Top in June 2017 with an auction result of GBP 131,250.00 (€ 149,469.26).

Die Arbeit Untitled, 1981 von Richard Smith wurde im Dezember letzten Jahres in der Auktion Sir Terence ConranThe Contents of Barton Court bei Bonhams versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 382,50 (€ 431,81) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 28%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tip Top im Juni 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 131.250,00 (€ 149.469,26).
