In the Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours including a Fine Collection of Old Master Prints auction, the work View of the Thames with the dome of Saint Paul's Cathedral, London sold for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,795.31) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Parkes Bonington achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Palazzi Manolesso-Ferro, Contarini-Fasan and Venier-Contarini on the Grand Canal, Venice in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 7,387,800.00 (€ 6,395,256.23).
