Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Harmonic Transition by Richard Mayhew was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2008. It changed hands for a price of USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,214.05) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 6,000.00 – 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Mayhew achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Guardian in November last year with an auction result of USD 252,000.00 (€ 244,115.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Harmonic Transition von Richard Mayhew kam im September 2008 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.214,05) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 9.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Mayhew erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Guardian im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 252.000,00 (€ 244.115,08).
