In July 2012 Christies in New York held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Silent Wind by Richard Mayhew. The auction ended at the price of USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,436.05), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Mayhew achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Guardian in November last year with an auction result of USD 252,000.00 (€ 244,115.08).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Juli 2012 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Silent Wind von Richard Mayhew zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.436,05) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Mayhew erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Guardian im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 252.000,00 (€ 244.115,08).
