Auction result well in line with expectations
The work #24 by Richard Marshall Merkin was auctioned at Christies in New York in December 2006. The price achieved of USD 480.00 (€ 363.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 400.00 – 600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Richard Marshall Merkin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gladys and Half-Pint 37 1/2 x 72 in. (95.3 x 182.9 cm) framed 39 1/4 x 74 x 2 in., which sold at auction in March this year for USD 1,020.00 (€ 938.19).

Die Arbeit #24 von Richard Marshall Merkin kam im Dezember 2006 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 480,00 (€ 363,72) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Richard Marshall Merkin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Gladys and Half-Pint 37 1/2 x 72 in. (95.3 x 182.9 cm) framed 39 1/4 x 74 x 2 in. beobachtet, die im März diesen Jahres für USD 1.020,00 (€ 938,19) versteigert wurde.
