Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Britannia, Lulworth and White Heather (II) powering across the line, Cowes, 1927 by Richard M. Firth was auctioned at Christies in New York in January 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 22,500.00 (€ 15,160.70). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Richard M. Firth - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Vigilant and Valkyrie II racing off Rhode Island, 1893, which sold at auction in January 2008 for USD 55,000.00 (€ 37,059.50).

Als die Arbeit Britannia, Lulworth and White Heather (II) powering across the line, Cowes, 1927 von Richard M. Firth im Januar 2008 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus.
