Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sewing By Lamplight by Richard Edward Miller was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 214,200.00 (€ 175,660.16) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Richard Edward Miller have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tea-Time in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,087,500.00 (€ 1,028,077.14).
