This artwork by Richard Brakenburgh achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2005. In the Old Master Paintings auction, the work The Feast of Saint Nicholas sold for USD 32,400.00 (€ 26,236.94) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Richard Brakenburgh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Eve of Saint Nicholas, which sold at auction in November 2011 for EUR 58,600.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Richard Brakenburgh erzielte im Mai 2005 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Paintings wurde die Arbeit The Feast of Saint Nicholas für USD 32.400,00 (€ 26.236,94) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Richard Brakenburgh mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Eve of Saint Nicholas beobachtet, die im November 2011 für EUR 58.600,00 versteigert wurde.
