In March 2007 Sothebys in Olympia held the auction 20th Century British & Irish Art, which included the work Black Bloom by Richard Allen. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,400.00 (€ 12,363.84), 68% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Richard Allen; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Warm Pink And Yellow sold at auction in March 2014 with the realized price of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 19,668.20).

Im März 2007 führte Sothebys in Olympia die Auktion 20th Century British & Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Black Bloom von Richard Allen zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 8.400,00 (€ 12.363,84) und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Richard Allen; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Warm Pink And Yellow im März 2014 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 19.668,20).
