Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2005 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Landscape With Cow by Rex Dupain. The price achieved of AUD 4,182.50 (€ 2,623.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 3,500.00 – 5,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rex Dupain - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bondi Brolly, which sold at auction in August 2005 for AUD 8,962.50 (€ 5,461.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2005 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape With Cow von Rex Dupain zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 4.182,50 (€ 2.623,02) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 3.500,00 – 5.500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Rex Dupain mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bondi Brolly beobachtet, die im August 2005 für AUD 8.962,50 (€ 5.461,82) versteigert wurde.
