Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sydney Rain, The Rocks by Rex Dupain was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in May 2004. The price achieved of AUD 3,585.00 (€ 2,094.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rex Dupain - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bondi Brolly, which sold at auction in August 2005 for AUD 8,962.50 (€ 5,461.82).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 3.585,00 (€ 2.094,60) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Rex Dupain mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bondi Brolly beobachtet, die im August 2005 für AUD 8.962,50 (€ 5.461,82) versteigert wurde.
