Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work King Lear and Cordelia by Matthew William Peters for USD 2,750.00 (€ 2,448.58). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Paintings and Sculpture at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Matthew William Peters achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Young Lady In A White Dress With Pink Bows, Seated At A Table, Reading A Book in January 2013 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 36,808.01).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juni 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit King Lear and Cordelia von Matthew William Peters für USD 2.750,00 (€ 2.448,58) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master Paintings and Sculpture bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Matthew William Peters erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Young Lady In A White Dress With Pink Bows, Seated At A Table, Reading A Book im Januar 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 36.808,01).
