Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art Online, which included the work Bananeiras III by Renato Meziat. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,500.00 (€ 2,242.35) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Renato Meziat achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Flowers in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 35,000.00 (€ 31,149.88).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bananeiras III von Renato Meziat zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.500,00 (€ 2.242,35) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Renato Meziat erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Flowers im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 31.149,88).
