Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Figures in a Landscape, 1881 by Ren Yi was auctioned at Bonhams in March this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 88,575.00 (€ 81,470.75). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ren Yi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Birds and Flowers in October 2012 with an auction result of HKD 17,250,000.00 (€ 1,717,278.90).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Figures in a Landscape, 1881 von Ren Yi im März diesen Jahres bei Bonhams versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 88.575,00 (€ 81.470,75) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ren Yi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Birds and Flowers im Oktober 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 17.250.000,00 (€ 1.717.278,90).
