This artwork by Rembrandt van Rijn achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in December last year. In the Prints and Multiples auction, the work Self-Portrait etching at a Window sold for GBP 12,750.00 (€ 14,393.51) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rembrandt van Rijn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a lady, aged 62, perhaps Aeltje Pietersdr. Uylenburgh, wife of Johannes Cornelisz. Sylvius, half-length, in black costume and a cap and collar in December 2000 with an auction result of GBP 19,803,750.00 (€ 31,547,196.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 82 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Rembrandt van Rijn erzielte im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Prints and Multiples wurde die Arbeit Self-Portrait etching at a Window für GBP 12.750,00 (€ 14.393,51) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rembrandt van Rijn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, aged 62, perhaps Aeltje Pietersdr. Uylenburgh, wife of Johannes Cornelisz. Sylvius, half-length, in black costume and a cap and collar im Dezember 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 19.803.750,00 (€ 31.547.196,55).
