Despite a disappointment, a good price for Rauf Mamedov
When the work Pietà (5) by Rauf Mamedov was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in March last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 5,040.00. Despite this disappointing result, Pietà (5) is the most expensive artwork by Rauf Mamedov that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Rauf Mamedov
Als die Arbeit Pietà (5) von Rauf Mamedov im März letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 5.040,00 den Besitzer. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Pietà (5) das teuerste Kunstwerk von Rauf Mamedov, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
