In January 2024 Phillips in London held the auction Evening & Day Editions, which included the work Untitled (Anxious Crowd) by Rashid Johnson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 19,050.00 (€ 31,883.19), 27% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rashid Johnson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Surrender Painting "Sunshine" in November last year with an auction result of USD 3,000,000.00 (€ 2,906,131.94).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 27 % übertroffen
Im Januar 2024 führte Phillips in London die Auktion Evening & Day Editions durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Anxious Crowd) von Rashid Johnson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 19.050,00 (€ 31.883,19) und damit 27% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rashid Johnson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Surrender Painting "Sunshine" im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.000.000,00 (€ 2.906.131,94).
