In June 2001 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS, which included the work A Flowering Plant Before An Open Window by Raoul Martinez. The »bidding war« ended at NLG 4,112.50 (€ 1,976.66), 18% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Raoul Martinez - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Waalseilandgracht, which sold at auction in October 2003 for EUR 4,780.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni 2001 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Flowering Plant Before An Open Window von Raoul Martinez zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von NLG 4.112,50 (€ 1.976,66) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Raoul Martinez mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Waalseilandgracht beobachtet, die im Oktober 2003 für EUR 4.780,00 versteigert wurde.
