Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Prince of Wales at the Beaufort Point-to-Point by Raoul Millais was sold in the Sporting Art, Wildlife & Dogs auction at Christies in London in November 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 6,126.13) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Raoul Millais - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Two Horses With Grooms And A Spaniel In A Landscape, which sold at auction in April 2008 for USD 27,400.00 (€ 17,600.21).
