Auction result well in line with expectations
The work First snow, Sutherland; Mid Winter, Sutherland; First snow of winter; and Stags in a landscape by Raoul Millais was sold in the Sporting and Wildlife Art auction at Christies in London in June 2012. The price achieved of GBP 1,062.50 (€ 1,315.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Raoul Millais achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two Horses With Grooms And A Spaniel In A Landscape in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 27,400.00 (€ 17,600.21).
