Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Raoul Millais could be acquired at Sothebys in London in October 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Pictures auction, the work British The Grey Horse changed hands for GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,911.96) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Raoul Millais have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Two Horses With Grooms And A Spaniel In A Landscape in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 27,400.00 (€ 17,600.21).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Raoul Millais konnte im Oktober 2008 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion British and Continental Pictures wechselte die Arbeit British The Grey Horse für GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.911,96) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Raoul Millais auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Two Horses With Grooms And A Spaniel In A Landscape im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 27.400,00 (€ 17.600,21).
