Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2001 Christies in London held the auction British And Continental Watercolours And Drawings, which included the work Portrait of a lady, bust-length, wearing a malachite necklace by Ralph Todd. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 528.75 (€ 854.54) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ralph Todd achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An entanglement in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 14,100.00 (€ 22,350.24).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion British And Continental Watercolours And Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, bust-length, wearing a malachite necklace von Ralph Todd zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 528,75 (€ 854,54) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ralph Todd erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An entanglement im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 14.100,00 (€ 22.350,24).
