Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2014 Christies in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work The Rendezvous by Raimundo de Madrazo y Garreta. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 52,500.00 (€ 37,851.48) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Raimundo de Madrazo y Garreta have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pierrette in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 281,000.00 (€ 331,133.63).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2014 führte Christies in New York die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Rendezvous von Raimundo de Madrazo y Garreta zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 37.851,48) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Raimundo de Madrazo y Garreta auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pierrette im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 281.000,00 (€ 331.133,63).
