Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Trafalgar Square Plinth) by Rachel Whiteread was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Phillips in London in June last year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 32,760.00 (€ 38,057.80) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rachel Whiteread achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Colours) in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 445,250.00 (€ 565,695.14).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Trafalgar Square Plinth) von Rachel Whiteread wurde im Juni letzten Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Phillips in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 32.760,00 (€ 38.057,80) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rachel Whiteread erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Colours) im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 445.250,00 (€ 565.695,14).
