Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2005 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work Figures on a country lane by R. Douglas. It changed hands for a price of GBP 576.00 (€ 852.56) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Other works by R. Douglas have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2000 the work Sorting the catch; and Fishermen's cottages on the coast was auctioned for GBP 1,057.50 (€ 1,696.90).
