Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (Red Rug Motif) by Rudolph Carl Gorman was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 562.50 (€ 396.60). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rudolph Carl Gorman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work #1 in April this year with an auction result of USD 9,562.50 (€ 8,661.68).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled (Red Rug Motif) von Rudolph Carl Gorman im März 2011 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 562,50 (€ 396,60) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rudolph Carl Gorman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit #1 im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 9.562,50 (€ 8.661,68).
